The Gao Lin syndrome refers to a renal insufficiency.
Possible causes:
- Anti-inflammatory (ex: ibuprofen) for a long time
- Diabetes
Symptoms
- May have traces of blood in the urine
- Proteinuria
There are two possible sub-syndromes:
Renal Qi not Firm
By vide of Renal Qi. Does not control the essence of body that is lost (excess protein in the urine).

- Pale tongue and deep and weak pulse

Heat-Humidity in lower Jiao
- Pain and burning in urethra when urinating, thirst
- Red tongue with seborrheic coating and rapid pulse
Treatment
General for all Lin syndromes: Restore Qi Ji of the Bladder.
- V-22 (TR: water passages)
- V-28 (Bladder shu)
- V-39 (he lower of TR)
- Globals: RM-3 (Mu) and F-2 (if there is pain when urinating)
- Rn-3, biao li, to help the bladder through Kidney
- If it is by energy insufficiency: tonify Kidney
- If it is by heat humidity: treat as Re Lin Syndrome or Xue Lin Syndrome.
